Baby Shower

So, as you may have read on our homepage, my sweet sister Amy took on the job of throwing me a baby shower. It was really great, and since she'll be having one for her baby in a couple of weeks, I can only wish her the best and hope that hers is just as special as mine was.
Here's me chowing down on some of the great food. We had a little accident before the party started. I was pulling something from the oven and it was a little too hot, so reflexes took over and I dropped it right into the hottest part of the oven. Smoke was everywhere and my brother-in-law who was helping me clean it up, ended up smelling like a smoker (sorry Austin!) Thankfully we were able to get the windows opened up and the smoke faded away before many of the guests arrived so I could hide my mistake!
This picture is of some of the guests. Grandma Sorensen was nice enough to let us have it at her home and a lot of our family was able to come. Thanks to the miracle of technology, we even were able to have mine and Ian's Moms there to celebrate with us. They joined via video chat and the internet. What a wonderful world of technology, huh?
Who better to have at a baby shower than a baby? Here's a picture of Ian's aunt Margene with her newest grandbaby born only a month before. His name is Porter and we really enjoyed his company. If you look on the table you can see a suprise that my sister pulled together. That baby in the frame is actually me. My Mom was able to send her the pictures and she framed them for the evening so everyone could get a look at what our baby might look like. After a few people asked we pulled out a photo album that Grandma Sorensen had of pictures of Ian as a baby. By contrast, I had a lot of dark hair, and he had very little blond hair. We're really anxious to see our little one and who he'll take after.
Here are some of the gifts we recieved at the party. We got a lot of clothes, toys, decorations and many other things to welcome our baby. Thanks to everyone for all the gifts. We couldn't ask for anything more. After Ian got back from the Priesthood session of General Conference, I spent some time showing him all the gifts. He got really excited to welcome the baby home and hasn't stopped talking to my stomach ever since trying to convince him to come. After we returned home to Idaho, Ian spent the evening sorting through his clothes and toys and putting them away in his room. It's really very adorable how excited he is.
